The winners of the Hessian State Award for Universal Design 2020 are clear: the competition is aimed at companies, agencies, architects, designers, and institutions that especially promote the theme at the national level. Besides, a grant is awarded to students and graduates of national universities. The State Award is awarded every two years jointly by the Hessian Ministry of Finance, the Hessian Ministry of Social Affairs and Integration, and the Hessian Minister for Digital Strategy and Development.

The first prize goes to the student Anna Koppmann from the University of the Arts Berlin.

„The idea of printing the essential first aid measures in the form of internationally understandable pictograms on the back of me gloves is as simple as genius. This eliminates the most common inhibition thresholds that prevent people from helping the unfortunate. It is also sympathetic that it is a fairly cost-effective solution, perfectly suitable as a promotional gift.

A fantastic product that can be used by virtually anyone intuitively, which will save many lives in the future.“
