Berlin based Studio Sacrale is a fusion of art and design created by Arne Soltau and Stefan Knauf. Their work is determined by intersections of the ritualistic and the banal, the sacred and the trivial, of control and fate, function and freedom, craft and coincidence, object and aura. Their ‚Granitsystemmöbel I‘ is the worlds heaviest yet most functional furniture system. Rough granite is placed on a bronze table frame system and covered with platforms of cast bronze, which solves an artificial problem and limits the usage at the same time. There is no limit to expansion.
