Sie kombinieren und verbinden Kräfte indem sie neue Netzwerke und Kollaborationen zwischen sowohl Universitäten und High-Tech Firmen als auch Bauern und lokale Herstellern kreieren. Ihre Kunden variieren von den Niederländischen Ministerien, der Provinz Utrecht, LUMA, ZTLO, Droog, Moooi und der Stadt Zaandam.
Die Projekte fokussieren sich auf soziale, zirkulare und standortspezifische Gestaltung und Produkte. Das Myzelium Projekt begann mit der Herstellung des Mycelium Chairs (NL, 2010), der extensiv veröffentlicht und ausgestellt wurde und in der Gründung von Krown (NL, 2017) mündete, eine Firma für Produkte basierend auf Mycelium. Das Studio arbeitete auch an mehreren Projekten an der Entwicklung von Biopolymeren aus lokalen Quellen, 3D Bakery (NL, 2015), AMS ‘Circular Supply Chain for the City’ (NL, 2016) und das Algae Lab bei Luma, Arles (FR, 2017), aus denen nachhaltige Produkte aus Algen resultierten auch mit dem Fokus auf haltbare und nachhaltige Produktionsmethoden.
Neben ihren Studio Projekten unterrichten Eric und Maartje bei dem Master Programm an der niederländischen Design Academy Eindhoven und Eric ausserdem bei dem Master of Architecture in Tilburg. 2011 gründete er das ArTechLab in Artez Enschede und dieses Jahr nimmt das Biolab an der Design Academy Eindhoven Gestalt an.

Eric Klarenbeek and Maartje Dros form a duo since 2004. Studio Klarenbeek & Dros collaborate on R&D and design projects striving for local new economies and production chains, material development and durable design objects for public space, interior design and consumer products.
They combine and connect forces by creating new networks and collaborations with universities, high-tech companies as well as farmers and local producers. Their clients vary from Dutch Ministries, Province of Utrecht, LUMA, ZLTO, Droog, Moooi and the City of Zaandam.
The projects focus on social, circular and site specific designs and products. The mycelium Project started with the creation of the Mycelium Chair (NL, 2010), which was published and exhibited extensively and resulted in the founding of a company for mycelium based products named Krown (NL, 2017). Also the studio worked on several projects on the development of biopolymers from local sources, 3D Bakery (NL, 2015), AMS ‘Circular Supply Chain for the City’ (NL, 2016) and the Algae Lab at Luma, Arles (FR, 2017), resulting in sustainable products from Algae focussing on durable and sustainable production methods.
Next to the studio’s projects Eric and Maartje are tutors at the master programme of the Dutch Design Academy Eindhoven and Eric as well at the Master of Architecture in Tilburg. In 2011 he founded the ArTechLab at Artez Enschede and this year the Biolab at Design Academy Eindhoven is given form.
