Tempus Fugit
DIE ZEIT VERGEHT, aber für jeden anders. Eine Abstraktion manipuliert durch subjektive Wahrnehmung, ein stilles Kontinuum im stetigen Wandel. Grundsätzlich sind wir im Kanon durch die Zeit reguliert, doch verändern wir individuell immerzu ihre Form. Wir tun das unbewusst, geleitet durch Impression und Korrelation. Wie wir uns fühlen erscheint uns die Welt, erscheint uns die Zeit- auch wenn sich das im nächsten Moment ändern wird. Wir inhalieren Zeit, streichen sie behutsam glatt, zerknüllen sie lapidar, werfen sie weg, nur um sie danach wieder aufzunehmen, zu konsumieren, bedächtig oder exzessiv, um sie zu exhalieren.
In der Ausstellung „tempus fugit“ steht die Zeit einen Augenblick still. Die Präsentation historischer Zeitmessgeräte zeigt die veritablen Unterschiede im Umgang mit Zeit. Das Verständnis der Zeit -und damit einhergehend die Darstellung und Skalierung dieser- wird etymologisch durch kulturelle und historische Hintergründe diverser Völker beeinflusst. Jeder der Zeitmesser ist deshalb ein Abbild der Entität, die ihn erschuf. Die Geräte sind Indikatoren für emotionale Konstitution und die dimensionale Verortung des Zeitkonsumenten.
TIME is passing for everyone differently. An abstraction manipulated by subjective perception, a quiet continuum in consistent change. We are, basically regulated by time for synchronization, but we always change individually the form of time. We do that subconsciously, guided by impression and correlation. We are percepting the world and time as we feel inside- even though that might change any moment. We inhale time, gently smooth it, crumple it up, throw it away, resume it, consume it, slowly or excessively, to exhale it.
In the exhibition „tempus fugit“, time stands still for a moment. The presentation of historical time meassuring devices shows the crucial diversities in dealing with time. The understanding of time- and its scaling and modeling- is etymologically influenced by the cultural and historical background of various ethnicities. Each of the timepieces is therefore a picture of the entity who created it. The devices are indicators of emotional constitution and the dimensional location of the time consumer.
