Die Bestattungskultur in Deutschland ist geprägt von alten Traditionen und konservativen Denkmustern. Da das Thema Tod und alles was dazu gehört für die meisten Menschen unantastbar ist, und über das ungern gesprochen wird, kann auch keine Veränderung entstehen. Wir haben uns zur Aufgabe gemacht, die Bestattungskultur ein Stück weit zu revolutionieren, indem wir ein neuartiges Totenbett entworfen haben. Diese Broschüre dokumentiert unsere Arbeit am ReTurn-Projekt. “ReTurn” widmet sich der Entwicklung einer nachhaltigen Bestattungsmethode, um den Körper nach dem Tod optimal in den biologischen Stoffkreislauf zurückzuführen. Das Projekt strebt an, eine neue Form der Bestattung ins Leben zu rufen, die den Respekt vor der Natur und den Wunsch nach einem ökologisch verträglichen Abschied vereint.
The funeral culture in Germany is characterized by old traditions and conservative thought patterns. Since the topic of death and everything that goes with it is sacrosanct for most people, and people don’t like to talk about it, no change can come about. We have set ourselves the task of revolutionizing the funeral culture to a certain extent by designing a new kind of deathbed. This brochure documents our work on the ReTurn project. „ReTurn“ is dedicated to developing a sustainable burial method to optimally return the body to the biological material cycle after death. The project aims to bring to life a new form of burial that combines respect for nature and the desire to say goodbye in an ecologically sound way.
