On 7 November 2023, the Berlin Future Places at Tempelhof Airport will showcase important contributions from research and practice on how to deal with climate change. In short keynote speeches, you will learn how we will grow our fruit and vegetables in fog instead of soil in the future, generate wind energy by flying kites and why our buildings should be made of mushrooms rather than concrete.
This year’s Climate Day is being hosted by Zukunftsort Flughafen Tempelhof. The former airport is developing into an experimental location and urban neighbourhood for art, culture and the creative industries. But can art and culture be sustainable and economically viable at the same time? In the panel discussion „Thinking about the future: climate and creative industries“, stakeholders from business, research and politics in Berlin’s creative industries will have their say.

Am 7. November 2023 zeigen die Berliner Zukunftsorte im Flughafen Tempelhof wichtige Beiträge aus Forschung und Praxis zum Umgang mit dem Klimawandel. In kurzen Impulsvorträgen erfahren wir, wie wir in Zukunft unser Obst und Gemüse in Nebel statt Erde anbauen, durch Drachensteigen Windenergie erzeugen und weshalb unsere Gebäude besser nicht aus Beton, sondern aus Pilzen gemacht sein sollten.
Gastgeber des diesjährigen Klimatags ist der Zukunftsort Flughafen Tempelhof. Der ehemalige Flughafen entwickelt sich zu einem Experimentierort und Stadtquartier für Kunst, Kultur und Kreativwirtschaft. Doch kann Kunst und Kultur auch nachhaltig und gleichzeitig wirtschaftlich sein?
