TW-723 Felix
TW-723 Felix is a handblown glass carafe made out of recycled glass. The focus is about the presentation of the fruits. It is shaped the way that the fruits transforms in their size and shape depending on the angle of the viewer. The negativ shape has been CNC milled into two beech blocks and the 1200°C glass was handblown into the mould.
The form-finding mainly took place in Rhino, where the materiality and deformation of the fruit was simulated. 3D prints were made for the first 1:1 models in order to check the shape and size. The mold was also repeatedly adapted so that a two-part mold could be developed for blowing into it.
TW-723 Felix ist eine mundgeblasene Glaskaraffe, die aus recyceltem Glas hergestellt wird. Der Schwerpunkt liegt auf der Präsentation der Früchte. Sie ist so gestaltet, dass sich die Früchte je nach Blickwinkel des Betrachters in ihrer Größe und Form verändern. Die Negativform wurde in zwei Buchenholzblöcke CNC-gefräst und das 1200°C heiße Glas wurde in die Form mundgeblasen.
Die Formfindung fand hauptsächlich in Rhino statt, wo die Materialität und die Verformung der Früchte simuliert wurde. Für die ersten 1:1 Modelle wurden 3D Drucke angefertigt, um die Form und Größe überprüfen zu können. Die Form wurde zudem immer wieder angepasst, sodass eine zweiteilige Form zum hineinblasen entwickelt werden konnte.
