AAAAH! die UdK! – at Feldfünf, during Berlin Design Week | 15-18 May

Students and graduates of the Institut for Product and Process Design at the University of the Arts Berlin reflect upon the position of design and its relationship to production and consumption.
> How to shape our future environment and make positive contributions to it?
> What role can material, cultural, technical, social, digital, craft, industrial, historic, artistic and personal impulses play in this?

Under the flag of UdK Designtransfer, the Product Design department shows projects that surprise, inspire, and invite to reflect at UdK’s temporary alternativ space Feldfünf.
The exhibited objects are characterized by adaptable design, unexpected functions, and a strong focus on sustainability – showcasing the diverse and exceptional potential of contemporary product design at UdK Berlin.

On display are semester projects from various courses and graduation projects, under supervision of Prof. Ineke Hans, Prof. Holger Neumann and guestprofs: Mathias Hahn, Aeneas Stankowski, Antje Engelmann:
> UnDogmatiK IPP’s  successful show in Milano 2025 at SaloneSatellite
> SHIFT work from IPP students who graduated end of March

The new UdK President Prof. Dr. Markus Hilgert will open the two presentations at the festive vernissage on 14. May 18.00h.

Next to it a cooperation takes place with the WilhelmBraun-Feldweg Foundation of which UdK president Markus Hilgert is Patron.
On May 15th at 5 p.m Charlotte Singer-Fischer will give a short lecture about her prize-winning essay, which was published as part of the Braun-Feldweg Preis in November 2024:

Between The Lines. AI – a brave new future?
A book launch and lecture by Charlie Singer-Fischer, graduate of the Communication Design at Darmstadt University of Applied Sciences: What does Artificial Intelligence mean for design, language and the role of designers?
Charlie Singer-Fischer gives an insight into her book and a critical examination of current developments in intelligent systems. A digression between design theory and analysis, with examples and linguistic experiments.
