FORMCARD EXPERIMENT – Jul Gross

During an intense one-week project, we evaluated a product called FORMcard—a credit-card–sized piece of bioplastic that becomes malleable when submerged in hot water for a few seconds, then hardens again as it cools.

This experiment showcased FORMcard’s ability to create instant, perfect negative molds of existing objects and highlighted its lasting elastic properties. The result is a reusable cap for crown-cork bottles. The cap lets you reseal your beverage, protecting it from insects and providing peace of mind against tampering. A loop on top makes it easy to carry on a keychain or to hang your bottle from a belt loop or backpack.
