Cardboard Works ist eine Maschine zum Schneiden von Karton und einer Reihe weiterer Produkte. Die Maschine macht es möglich, Karton vor Ort zu verarbeiten. Es handelt sich um eine mobile Maschine, die innerhalb von zwei Tagen aufgebaut werden kann. Die Pläne dafür sind Open Source und jedes spezielle Teil, das man nicht im Baumarkt um die Ecke bekommt, ist 3D-gedruckt. Das offene System ermöglicht es, eigene Werkzeuge zu entwickeln und in der Produktion kreativ zu werden oder die Anwendung an die örtlichen Gegebenheiten anzupassen. Als Ausgangsbasis wurden 3 Werkzeuge zum Schneiden, Rillen und Zeichnen entwickelt. Ein Hocker und ein Abfalleimer, die bei der Produktion vor Ort ohnehin nützlich sind, wurden mit einem Faltplan aus einem flachen Kartonbogen als Ausgangspunkt für die lokale Produktion entwickelt. 

Cardboard Works is a machine for cutting cardboard and a series of products. The machine makes it possible to process cardboard on site. The open system makes it possible to develop one’s own tools and to become creative in the production or to adapt the application to local conditions. A stool and a bin that come in handy at on site production anyways where developed with a folding plan from a flat sheet of cardboard as a starting point for local production.
