Das Projekt setzt sich mit dem Thema häusliche Gewalt auseinander. Dabei liegt der Fokus nicht auf der Darstellung der Grausamkeit, sondern auf der Analyse der Gründe für ihre Existenz. Ziel ist es, ein Objekt zu entwickeln, das zur Diskussion und Auseinandersetzung mit diesem Thema beitragen kann.

In unserer Welt wird die Gesellschaft immer sehr von Männern dominiert. Es gibt die konventionelles Bild von Männlichkeit, dass Mann immer tapfer, stark bleiben muss. Wenn man diesem Image nicht entspricht und versucht, sich anzupassen, läuft Gefahr, dass häusliche Gewalt entsteht. Der Entwurf basiert auf der Idee einer Tür, die als Symbol für das Zuhause dient. Dabei handelt es sich um eine gezogene, aufgeschäumte Türzarge . Die Tür geht jedoch nicht zu, sondern wird ständig blockiert. Dies soll die Assoziation zur häuslichen Gewalt verdeutlichen, bei der oft Türen blockiert werden, um in den Raum einzudringen.

Alltägliche Gegenstände, die eigentlich harmlos sind, können als Mittel zur Ausübung von Gewalt dienen. Ein Beispiel hierfür ist der Besen, der in diesem Projekt als Warnung dient und durch die Besenlampe symbolisiert wird.

Als Mann ist der Entwurf für mich auch eine Selbstkritik. Selbstkritik ist wichtig, um die Macht, wie von Foucault beschrieben, in Bewegung zu halten und Gewalt zu verhindern.

The project deals with the topic of domestic violence. The focus is not on depicting the cruelty, but on analyzing the reasons for its existence. The goal is to develop an object that can contribute to the discussion and engagement with this issue.

In our world, society is always dominated by men. There is a conventional image of masculinity, where a man must always remain brave and strong. If one does not conform to this image and tries to adapt, there is a risk of domestic violence.
The design is based on the idea of a door that serves as a symbol for the home. It is a drawn, foamed door frame. However, the door does not close but is constantly blocked. This is intended to illustrate the association with domestic violence, where doors are often blocked to enter the room.
Everyday objects that are usually harmless can serve as a means of exercising violence. An example of this is the broom, which serves as a warning in this project and is symbolized by the broom lamp.

As a man, the design is also self-criticism for me. Self-criticism is important to keep the power, as described by Foucault, in motion and prevent violence.
