Philipp von Lintel was born in Frankfurt and graduated in 2009 from Hochschule für Gestaltung Schwäbisch Gmünd with a Bachelor of Arts in Produktgestaltung. As a student he worked briefly for IDEO in Munchen and Industrial Facility in London.
After graduation he started as an industrial designer at Native Design in London, but soon became principal designer at Industrial Facility London. From 2010 till 2016 he worked with Sam Hecht and Kim Colin on projects for a.o. Muji, Mattiazzi, Wästberg and Herman Miller.
In 2017 Phillip moved to Berlin to work as the first industrial designer to design future hardware instruments for Ableton. Here he works closely with UI, UX designers, musicians, in-house and external engineers from factories too on new music instruments to make music more accessible. In 2016 Philipp was Visiting Tutor Design Products at the Royal College of Art in London.
Over the years Philipp has build up a deep knowledge about the history of Braun: „I read almost all the publications one can buy“. He looks forward to share this with his students and to work with them on the BraunPrize 2018 during Wintersemester 2017/18, see
