smooth ist eine Serie aus sanften und flexiblen Aufbewahrungsobjekten. Der Fokus dieser Arbeit liegt auf der Kombination, die Funktion und Dienstleistung eines Objektes zu verstecken und in ihm Gegenstände verschwinden zu lassen, die wir nur von Zeit zu Zeit benötigen. Wie kann man dies durch ein ungewöhnliches Material kommunizieren und somit den Nutzen nicht auf den ersten Blick erkennbar machen?
smooth besteht aus drei Schaumstoffobjekten bei denen diese Leitfrage im Fokus steht. Die Ästhetik ist an das Festhalten und -klemmen von Gegenständen mit unserem Körper angelehnt und wird durch das Design in Objekte übersetzt. Die akustikverbessernde Wandstruktur smooth 1 bietet durch einfache Verbindungen ein Stecksystem für verschiedenste Gegenstände.
Der Hocker smooth 2 lässt erst auf den zweiten Blick erkennen, dass in ihm Bücher und Zeitschriften platzsparend aufbewahrt werden können. Das Hauptobjekt dieser Serie bildet smooth 3, es besteht aus einem selbstgeschäumten, modularen Wandregal, welches fortlaufend aneinandergesetzt werden kann.

smooth is a series of soft and flexible storage objects. The focus of this work lies on the combination of hiding the function of an object and making objects of different shapes and sizes, that we only need from time to time, disappear. I asked myself the question of how I could communicate this through an unusual material and thus not discern the functional character at first sight?
smooth consists of three foam objects that address this key issue. The aesthetics take inspiration from holding and clamping objects with our bodies, translating this into the design of each object. The acoustics improving wall structure of smooth 1 offers an easy system to simply pop a variety of objects in between the strands of foam.
The stool smooth 2 reveals at second glance only that books and magazines can be stored in a space-saving manner. The main object of this series is smooth 3. It consists of a self-foamed modular wall shelf, which can be arranged freely to form a personalised storage unit on the wall.
