Das White reef ist entstanden im Rahmen des Projektes The Invisible Home – Zwischen Transparenz und Camouflage. Es ließ sich inspirieren von der Landschaft der Unterwasserwelt und der Camouflage-Techniken der Natur.
Das White reef_1 besteht aus einer Kollektion von Aperitif Tellern aus Porzellan, die entworfen wurden, um eine beidseitige Benutzung zu ermöglichen. In der Installation sind die Teller aneinander platziert und bilden zusammen eine Landschaft, wie ein Riff. Der einzelne Teller verliert so seine Funktion/Wirkung und verschwindet in der Mehrheit.
Das Projekt White reef ist eine Hommage an die wunderschöne Welt des Riffs. Ein Hinweis auf die Aufhellung der Korallen durch den Klimawandel. Ein Stück „unsichtbares Zuhause“, welches wir bald verlieren können.

The white reef project evolves into three parallel projects which are each influenced by the camouflaging natural world.
In the first project white reef_1, the ceramic aperitivo dining plate has a design inspired by the Sarcophyton trocheliophorum – a species of coral. In addition, the plate is conceived to be used on both sides. In this exposition, the plates lie together – emulating a reef landscape and, creating with this swarm, a visual illusion of unity that allows the single piece to camouflage into the multitude.
The White Reef Project is an homage to the magnificent submerged world of the coral reef. It also acknowledges the bleaching and whitening of the reef caused by climate change. The reef is part of our ‘Invisible home’ – a part of which we risk losing soon.
