In a cooperation project with BASF Lukas Henneberger developed ‚Wrap it Up‘, where he addressed the enormous amounts of stretch foils that are used just once and end up in waste.
He developed a monomaterial alternative for the roll-carts which are used for refilling the supermarkets. The project is nominated for the 2023 Bundespreis Ecodesign in the category ‚Nachwuchs‘.
EN: Every year, 1.5 million tonnes of single-use stretch film are consumed across Europe. „Wrap It Up“ is a reusable alternative for single-use PE stretch film and multi-material fall protection for roll carts. Made from hundred percent TPU, the film stabilises wheeled containers and keeps stored goods in place. By using ultrasonic welding technology, it is even possible to weld the Ridgid clips to the flexible transparent film without glue.
DE: Pro Jahr werden 1.5 Millionen Tonnen Single-Use-Stretchfolie Europaweit verbraucht. „Wrap It Up“ ist eine wiederverwendbare Alternative für Einweg-PE-Stretchfolien und Multimaterial-Fallschutzvorrichtungen für Rollwägen. Die aus hundert Prozent TPU hergestellte Folie stabilisiert Rollcontainer und hält das Lagergut an seinem Platz. Durch den Einsatz von Ultraschallschweißtechnik ist sogar das Verschweißen der Ridgid-Clips mit der flexiblen transparenten Folie ohne Klebstoff möglich.
