4 UdK projects on show in Re:start at Moderne Galerie Saarbrücken

17 May till 26 October The Modern Gallery in Saarbrücken shows: Re:start, an exhibition with works of various students and graduates of UdK Product design.

What role can the museum play in the context of social transformation? What active contributions can the art world and museums make to climate protection and sustainability? The Modern Gallery of the Saarland Museum is asking these questions as part of the exhibition „Re:start. Creative positions for better futures“.

The guest project “Re:start”, curated by Mark Braun, professor of product design and designer, uses works by young designers to show how current challenges of climate change can be met. The focus is on new perspectives on the use of energy and resources, strategic changes in the areas of mobility, inclusion and consumption as well as experimental, nature-based materials and circular processes. Future-oriented scenarios for recyclable materials, products, architecture and urban space will be developed. At the same time, the focus is on resilience – how we can adapt to future living conditions and actively counteract them. The designers show how social transformation and empowerment can contribute to sustainable developments.

UdK works on show:
– MAE modern restoration, by Cathy Wolters (MA)
– Bestek and Stigma, by Hendrik Lucka (BA)
– ReTurn, by Lale Knapp and Nele Oetjens
– Papilio, by Tobias Trübenbacher (BA)
