We all need food, but there is a lot to say and question about it, such as
• practical: how and what do we eat and will we eat? What are our tools for eating? Which materials and technnologies are used for tools now and in the future?
→ For this we look at types of food, tools for food and the production of foodtools.
• political: what if you are poor or rich, what are the influences of war, a growing population and climate change on food? Where is it produced, or will it be and who has access to food?
→ For this we look at geo-politics around food.
• psychological: what do the multi-sensory experiences that food can evoke do to us? And how do changing habits, table manners or eating habits from other cultures influence what we eat?
→ For this we look the sensorial and antropological aspects of food.
PROJECT:
Changing habits, taste, recourses, materials, technology, climate, crops, scarcity, access and politics… all affect our relationship with food.
→ In this project you explore future scenarios and strategies and contexts for food. You will pick a geo-political and psychological aspect and design a future proof tool for food.
